Community Guidelines
What we welcome
- Photographs you took, photos you have rights to, or royalty-free imagery you have permission to derive from.
- Patterns of all skill levels, all stitch types, all aesthetics.
- Honest attribution. If you make a pattern from someone else’s photograph that you have permission to use, credit the original photographer in the source-image-credit field.
What we do not allow
- Sexual, violent, self-harm, or hateful content.
- Images you don’t own or have rights to.
- Spam — repeated near-duplicate uploads, irrelevant promotional content, automated upload behavior.
- Content that targets a real person who hasn’t consented to be portrayed.
Moderation
Every public submission passes an automated content-moderation check (OpenAI Moderation API) and a perceptual-hash check against existing public patterns to prevent duplicates and low-effort spam. Anonymous uploads are rate-limited per IP. For the first 30 days after launch, all public submissions are reviewed by a human before being indexed.
Reporting content
Every public pattern page includes a “Report” button. We review the queue daily and take action within 24 hours when a report is valid.
DMCA takedown
StitchingLab respects copyright. To submit a DMCA takedown notice, email dmca@stitchinglab.com with:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing — including the URL of the StitchingLab pattern page.
- Your contact information (name, email, mailing address).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized.
- A statement that the information is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We respond to valid DMCA notices within 24 hours, removing the offending content. We have a documented repeat-infringer policy and will terminate accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material. Counter-notice: if your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice using the same email.
